Kenmare's Already Feeling The SLA Heat

Kenmare, the new restaurant from Nur Khan, Paul Sevigny and Joey Campanaro, isn't even open for business and has already run afoul of the Community Board and the State Liquor Authority. The Daily News spoke with the SLA's Deputy Chief Executive Officer Michael Jones, who said that after receiving complaints, "we are paying close attention to them." Just like the recent smoking crackdown, part of the trouble came from photos that were posted on Patrick McMullan's website from the Purple Dinner held at Kenmare on Valentine's Day. But remember, Purple threw an after party for that dinner on the Gramercy Hotel's roof, and Khan went off to host Guns N' Roses at the Rose Bar, so how late could the Valentine's dinner really have gone? According to Eater operatives, these preview dinners really were one offs, and Campanaro and his team are busy working on the menu and service, and plan to open in a few weeks. Let's hope that the opening can occur so Campanaro can showcase his skills at an additional venue.
