Several Years In The Making, Dram Bar Is Almost Ready

New, 6 comments

It's been more than two years since the plans to convert former Chickenbone Cafe space in Williamsburg into the speakeasy-esque Dram Bar were announced. It looks like the wait could almost be over, as Dram hosted a friends and family night over the weekend. Brownstoner attended the event and found that, "wood-paneled walls and a long, canoe-like lantern over the bar kept the space cozy. Barkeeps were dressed up in vests, and large, cushioned alcoves provided comfy seating areas." Sounds lovely. Historical Reference #1: The Dram name refers to the unit of measurement in the apothecaries' system and #2: The Chickenbone was Zak Pelaccio's first restaurant and a South Williamsburg pioneer. The Dram is expected to open in approximately four weeks.
