Feast your eyes upon Jean-Georges Vongerichten's newest baby, The Mark, now open in the Mark Hotel. Jacques Grange designed the sleek, airy space, which seems built for versatility. Note the natural light and high ceilings in the main dining room, and the curvy mood-lit bar and wine room. As we learned a few weeks ago, partitions were built into the space to allow various parts of the restaurant to be closed off for private parties without disrupting the flow of the main dining room. The menu features JGV's take on French comfort food, including dishes like rack of lamb and croque monsieur, with a few pastas and a cheeseburger rounding things out as well. The Mark served lunch today, and is open for dinner tonight -- please do send any early feedback our way.
