Last night, the "Hungry in America" Project at Colicchio & Sons, hosted by Tom Colicchio and Natalie Portman, drew big-name chefs, influential politicians, and supporters to eat, drink, and most importantly, view a raw version of the documentary, "Hungry in America," directed by award-winning Lori Silverbush (Colicchio's wife) and Kristi Jacobson. Hoping to raise $500,000 from the event, the money will be used to complete the film and further create awareness in the houses of Congress and the U.S.D.A. through successful lobby groups on Capitol Hill. As for the food, Rocco DiSpirito and Michael Schlow teamed up in Colicchio's open kitchen churning out fired pizzas, plating tuna sashimi, and answering guests' food questions.
