Landmarked Walker's to Serve Pizza; Fire Shutters 212

TRIBECA—Landmarked Tribeca bar Walker's has been working on an expansion for the better part of two years. At last night's Community Board 1 meeting, the owners revealed their plans: "The restaurant is taking over what used to be a grocer’s, adding 34 seats—including a six-seat bar—and a brick oven for pizzas. It’ll all be called Walker’s. And there will be a total of five bathrooms." [Tribeca Citizen]

UPPER EAST SIDE— These fires are getting a bit much. A tipster reports and a call to the restaurant confirms that a fire on the night of the Super Bowl has shuttered 212 Restaurant & Bar for at least the next two months. [EaterWire]

LOWER EAST SIDE— Because restaurants, clothes and haircuts just weren't enough, wine lover, community board expert and Eater friend William Tigertt has teamed up with Hirsch Vineyards to create a Freemans Cuvée. The 2008 pinot noir will be $80 per bottle and $20 per glass and we assume goes perfectly with Devils on Horseback. [Feast]

UPPER EAST SIDE— Flo Fab runs an updated pic of Jean-Georges Vongerichten's newest Upper East Side restaurant Mark, and it looks quite a bit better than it did two weeks ago. As a bonus she offers up the menu. [Diner's Journal]
