Eccentric Restaurateur Zucco Dies of Heart Attack

Bowery Boogie and Grub Street report the incredibly sad news that Zucco, the eccentric owner of the minuscule LES restaurant Zucco: Le French Diner, died of a heart attack over the weekend. A Bowery Boogie tipster came across EMTs on the sidewalk trying to revive the man on Saturday afternoon and reports that friends are collecting money at the restaurant to send his body back to France. It's unclear how long the restaurant will stay open but it remains in business for the time being.
