Last Wednesday, Mary Queen of Scots played host to an intimate group of Scotch lovers at Eater’s Mark the Moment tasting event with The Glenlivet. Brand ambassador Ricky Crawford walked guests through a range of Scotch (12, 15 and 18 years of age) accompanied by enviable bites from a group of world-renowned chefs. Jean-Georges Vongerichten spoiled guests with The Glenlivet-soaked fois gras with cranberry granola, aged balsamic and sorrel, while his son, Cedric, was also on hand to deliver Peekytoe crab dumplings with sweet chili glaze. Osteria Morini’s Bill Dorrler teamed up with Gordon Finn of Altamarea Group to give us Cotechino (spiced pork sausage, lentils, black truffle potato puree, nebbiolo mostarda) and Mary Queen of Scot’s in-house chefs, Chris Rendell and Ryan Butler, passed around seared scallops with butternut squash puree and salsa verde, and shortbread with whiskey ganache, respectively.
If you missed the gathering, then check out Eater's Mark the Moment video series, featuring some of the aforementioned faces, as well as other celebrated chefs. >>
