Bungalow 8 Renovation Delays Impact Its Re-opening

New, 1 comment

Last October, rumors began to fly that Amy Sacco's Bungalow 8 had decided to call it a day. Ms. Sacco vehemently denied the rumors, telling Eater at the time, "I am redoing the entire space to give it a facelift, that's really all. I am not closing." Fast forward to December, 2009, when Amy emailed the world announcing that Bungalow 8's grand re-opening would coincide with Fashion Week in February. But with that momentous occasion that is Fashion Week quickly approaching, it seemed odd that there hadn't been any mention of Bungalow re-opening or any events booked at the space.

Unfortunately, Bungalow 8 will not be ready for Fashion Week. Ms. Sacco tells Eater that "we are not going to be done now till end of March....we had a delay." That will make it six plus months since it first closed for renovations, and still no permits filed with the Department of Buildings. The final kicker: According to the SLA's website, Bungalow's liquor license expired in April, 2009, meaning that when (or if) the renovations are finished, they may have to start the licensing process from the beginning if the club is ever to reopen.
