In a blog post about a recent weekend in New York, famed cookbook author Michael Ruhlman relays a tale of bad service at Minetta Tavern and counters it with the wonderfully accommodating Bar Boulud and Maialino. He concludes, "I expect good food in New York, really good food. But when it misses the mark, I don’t really care! I’m not a critic. It happens...On the other hand, if service is unprofessional or simply inexperienced, it can change ? everything." [Ruhlman]
