Is Danae Cappelletto the New Queen Of New York Nightlife?

Is Travertine and XIX owner Danae Cappelletto the next Amy Sacco? This important question is posed in the latest installment of Page Six the Magazine, which says that the Australian stunner's success with the problem plagued location that was supposed to be the NYC location for Forty Deuce has catapulted her to the top of the female power pyramid. The evidence? The article points to Jay Z and Beyonce once dining in the restaurant and P Diddy and Drake shooting a video in the basement lounge. Combine that with Cappeletto's hiring of Sacco's former Bungalow 8 doorman and a recent conversation that the two ladies once had, and you really don't have all that much compared to Sacco's successes with Lot 61 and Bungalow. But since Danae is in the New York game and Amy off doing her European thing, doesn't that put the young gun on top?

A few weeks ago, rumors began to circulate that Sacco was planning to re-enter the New York scene in a big way, reportedly by buying a midtown townhouse with plans to renovate it into a restaurant and lounge. Sacco's entry into the area would cement the revival of Midtown's nightlife scene, but she is denying the rumor for now, saying it is "news to me? Have nothing in midtown? For real!" We accept her response for now, but this is the same person who refuses to officially recognize the death of Bungalow, so it wouldn't be a shock if she announces something soon. Expect it to come via her newly launched Twitter presence.

As for the Cappelletto's place on top, it seems wise for her to focus her energies on staying open for another year before she agrees to this comparison pieces.
