There are plenty of procrastinators out there who haven't planned their New Year's Eve dinners yet. But no worries. Restaurateurs are procrastinators too, as evidenced by the flood of emails we've received this week from operators who decided last minute on their plans of action. Soho:
Burger & Barrel: New Year's Eve Special, offered in addition to the regular a la carte menu, truffle burger, and wine specials: Roasted Prime Rib with Caramelized Onion Jus, Twice Baked Stuffed Potato and Baby Carrots for $38. They are taking reservations. 212-334-7320.
Lani Kai is throwing a $100, four hour long open bar party with passed appetizers and a Champagne toast. 646-596-8778.
East Village:
Goat Town: Goat Town will serve a three-course $75 menu with choices of Grilled Maine Sea Scallops, Twice-Cooked Berkshire Pork Belly, or a White Pheasant Breast. The evening begins with a champagne cocktail and guests have the choice of adding a wine-pairing component to their feast for an extra $25. 212-687-3471
Porsena, the cozy new pasta parlor from Sara Jenkins, will be open and serving their regular menu on New Year's Eve, with a special of lentils and sausage for the holiday, walk-ins only.
Chelsea:
Cafeteria has a 24 liquor license for New Years Eve and is serving drinks 24/7 and breakfast beginning at 1 AM all day long.
West Village:
Carmine Club Cafe: Noel Cruz at Carmine Club Cafe just decided to do a last minute New Years Eve dinner with two seatings. First seating is 6 PM for $45 with $35 wine pairings - four courses. Second seating is 9:30 PM for $65 and $45 wine pairings - five courses. Dishes include scallop crudo with Meyer lemon and smoked salt; whole branzino with polenta and blood orange; and dessert of malted milk semifreddo with pepperoncini and vanilla wafer. 212-933-0527
Bell Book & Candle: Newly opened Bell Book & Candle will offer two seatings, one starting at 5:30 PM and the other at 9:30 PM. The first seating will consist of a limited regular menu. For the second seating, executive chef John Mooney will extend his Chef's Table to every table in the restaurant. The dinner will be $75 per person or $200 per couple (with a bottle of Heidsick Champagne) and be a family-style assortment of Chef John's signature dishes such as Fried Oysters, Lobster Tacos, Prime Rib, Monkfish with Chorizo Oyster Stuffing and much more. 212-414-2355.
Anfora is offering some specials for New Year’s Eve: From 5PM-9PM, they're serving half price cocktails along with two-for-one crostini. From midnight until close, they'll have $8 glasses of Lini Lambrusco, too. [EaterWire]
FiDi:
SHO Shaun Hergatt will host a special New Year’s Eve dinner with early and late seatings. For the first seating ($110), guests will receive a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival at 5:30 PM which will be followed by a three-course menu complete with chocolates and petit fours. The second seating begins at 9:00 PM ($250) with complimentary champagne, canapés and amuse bouche, and a six-course tasting menu. The night will feature a live band, party favors and a toast to ring in the New Year. All guests will leave with a parting gift bag.
Upper West Side:
FishTag: FishTag is celebrating New Year’s Eve with a menu of three appetizing/charcuterie platters with sparkling wine pairings. Each platter serves 2 people and includes an assortment of smoked salmon, tuna, and caviars to nosh on while counting down to 2011. Tiers run from $40 to $85 and are offered in addition to the a la carte menu. Fort Greene:
No. 7 restaurant is serving three seatings. 5:30 and 7:30 seatings include six courses and run got $95 ($135 with pairings). the 9:30 seating includes eight courses and runs $125 (165 with pairings). All include vegetarian options. 718-522-6370
