Camille Becerra, a Top Chef alum and the former chef and owner of burned down Greenpoint eatery Paloma, has a new restaurant in the works at 146 Orchard Street between Stanton and Rivington. For the better part of the year, observers have wondered what was going into that space and whether or not Becerra was involved—she was then she wasn't—and now Bowery Boogie reports that the "urban American" restaurant called APL will open to the public sometime in mid-January. Blackbook's Steve Lewis helped out with the design, and, here's a new one, graffiti artist Shepard Fairey created the wallpaper. So hip!
