NY Mag Drops Where to Eat in 2011 Issue

New, 2 comments

To close out a month of year-end listicles and trend forecasting, today NY Mag drops its monster Where to Eat in 2011 issue. Included are critic Adam Platt's picks for the city's 10 best new restaurants (both Lotus of Siam and Recette make the cut) and best new chefs (Ma Peche's Tien Ho and Recette's Jesse Schenker both get nods).

The issue also features an expansive roundup of the city's popular dining styles, by category, including: grandma-Italian (Osteria Morini, Torrisi, Maialino), tasting menus (Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare, Del Posto, Anissa) restaurants where "beef is the new pork" (Ma Peche, Manzo, Takashi), places where "vegetables are the new meat" (Dovetail, La Verdure, ABC Kitchen) southern-fried Brooklyn (Commodore, Pies 'n' Thighs, Seersucker) and elevated sandwiches (Locanda Verde, Burger & Barrel, Mile End), to name a few.

In the next few days, we'll see more listicles from the few remaining media outlets who have yet to bestow their knowledge upon us (expect some sort of Sifton list tomorrow afternoon/Wednesday morning). And for more 2010 food-recap fun, stay tuned — later this morning we're rolling out the first nuggets of our annual Year in Eater coverage.
