Hickey's, a Madison Square Garden area dive bar that had been open for business for four decades, closed recently. Hickey's closure will fuel the fire that burns deep inside true dive bar lovers, as each of their treasured favorites fold one by one like investment banks during the panic of 2008. But while the loss of any small business is mourned, even the nostalgic bloggers who wanted to love the bar found it to be charming but sad. Hickey's is dead. Long live Hickey's!
