New, 1 comment

GREENWICH VILLAGE— Grub Street reports that O Café will open in the old Joe Jr.'s coffee shop, a neighborhood staple which abruptly closed last summer. Brazilian chef and baker Fernando Aciar will serve Brazilian coffee chocolate-coated honey cake called pão de mel, pão de queijo, and chocolates. It should open by the middle of next month.[GS]

NOLITA— From January 7th to the 30th, Park Here, a pop up event, will take over an empty white box of a space on Mulberry Street. The space will include an indoor park with trees, grass, and food carts. An organizer explains, "We've curated a unique schedule of events, programming will include yoga in the mornings, open-to-the-public lunches with street vendors selling their delicious cart foods, and then foodie-oriented events like movie nights on the lawn and an UrbanDaddy pop-up dinner series."
