Max Fish regulars are so distraught over the bar's pending closing that they have taken to getting tribute tattoos of a "a small broken bottle, a teardrop and the letters M and F". It's a touching tribute to a bar that has hosted celebrities like Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, Jim Jarmusch, Dash Snow, the old neighborhood junkies and regular folks that called the Lower East Side home over the last two decades, but is now forced to close since its landlord and owner could not come to terms over a new lease.
