The Highliner Is Not Opening Anytime Soon

Last month we wondered what was going on at Highliner, the new restaurant from the Coffeeshop folks opening in the old and iconic Empire Diner space. Construction seemed to have stopped on the place and there was no word on what the new plans were.

Well, now there's an update. A reader takes a look inside today and writes, "Ever wonder why this project is taking so long? Have a look inside.... The place is gutted!!! So much for all that great stainless steel!" Late last year, the owners promised the restaurant would stay in 'pretty much the same form that it is now,' except with a 'Coffee Shop flavor.'
