The Daily News reports with a certain air of authority that Brooklyn's first Shake Shack is opening in the newly revamped Fulton Street Mall. Anonymous sources (but not official reps for restaurateur Danny Meyer) tell the paper that the growing burger joint chain is moving into the Tony's Famous Pizza space in the Downtown Brooklyn pedestrian mall, while Tony's moves to a different mall location. The mall has also courted an H&M and (!) a Filene's Basement.
They tell Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz about what they've heard, and suffice it to say, he's psyched. For what it's worth, Shake reps have nothing "concrete" to share. Which doesn't really mean anything.
