Mangalitsa Goes Retail at Murray's; Sixpoint's Crazy New Beer

UPPER WEST SIDE—To celebrate Hanukkah, Bill Telepan will serve specialty latkes at his UWS restaurant Telepan from December 1 - 9. [EaterWire]

RED HOOK—The folks over at Sixpoint announce a new line of Mad Scientist's beer. They plan on releasing a range of "extremely limited, highly creative one-off beers," six times a year, on the first of the month, every other month. They begin with a 9.4% ABV "Spelt Wine." [EaterWire]

WEST VILLAGE—In December, Murray's Cheese will begin selling the first Mangalitsa hams from North America retail. Mangalitsa, for those who don't know, are those super fatty wooly pigs that offer super dark, sweet, and juicy meat. It sells for $50 a pound, will be available to sample tomorrow and for sale in a couple of weeks. They'll also be selling and sampling American Wagyu Bresaola from Salumeria Biellese and DeBragga and Spitler. It goes for $75 a pound. Update: Nevermind: they're both for sale now. Get to it.
