Back in September, Eleven Madison Park caused quite a hullabaloo and a fair amount of internet chatter when it removed 30 seats and replaced its prix fixe menu with a chart of ingredients that diners select from. Perhaps it didn't go over as well as they had hoped. Chowhounders and Grub Street notice that in addition to the 4 course grid for $125, they offer a more classic tasting menu for $195. Remember, before the overhaul, tasting menus were $95 - 135. There are still no a la carte options.
An Eater reader quips, "Maybe they get another NYT cover story about changing it back combined with again shedding another 30 seats to make it 'better.'"
