Lotus of Siam Soft Opens with Seven Course Tasting Menu

Today, Serious Eats called the three week-old Kin Shop the best Thai food outside of Thailand. Harold Dieterle's about to get a run for his money.

Tomorrow, Lotus of Siam, the heralded Vegas Thai eatery that stealthily moved into the shuttered Cru space last month, soft opens to the public, and New York can finally see what all the hubbub is about. Now what makes it a soft opening? Instead of serving the regular menu, they're offering a seven course tasting menu only, for $65 a head. It's a little hint that this isn't your usual take-out Thai joint—if the expensive real estate wasn't a hint enough of course. The official opening, and the launch of the regular menu, is set for November 11. As always, send the early reports this way, and call 212-529-1700 for reservations.
