10 Next Moves for Free Agent Nate Appleman

New, 19 comments

As we know, Nate Appleman has left Pulino’s Bar & Pizzeria and is once again the hottest free agent in NYC. His next move is anyone's guess, but here are a few suggestions, provided he doesn't skip town:

10) Open a Thai restaurant
9) Team up with his old SF bud Daniel Holzman, lay down some pizza knowledge at the new location of the Meatball Shop
8) Return to reality TV, host a show about teaching overweight chefs how to slim down
7) Get the “grid-cut” trademarked
6) Launch an unpretentious ramen-to-go concept
5) Start a combo pizza/tattoo parlor on St. Marks
4) Open a kid-friendly spaghetti taco concept in the West Village
3) Return Drew Nieporent’s phone call
2) Open a 45-seat, dinner-only, seasonal-Italian restaurant in Carroll Gardens
1) Headline Danny Meyer’s new Union Square Café-style semi-fine dining spot in Battery Park City
