1) Midtown East: A reader writes in, "I walked by a neighborhood favorite today and saw that Subtle Tea was gone!" Any news on why the abrupt departure? It was always filled with students and those guys behind the counter had been there forever!

2) Flushing: Another tipster reports, "Xiao La Jiao, aka Little Pepper in Flushing. I went by there last night for dinner, only to discover that they were closed! Looks like they were in the middle of gutting the place (for renovation?). Since my Mandarin is nonexistent, I was unable to find out much more..." [ShutterWire]

3) Midtown: Zagat reports that Midtown East Chinese takeout spot Chiam Chinese Cuisine on East 28th Street is closed. It was open for 19 years. [Zagat]

4) Meatpacking District: Grub Street reports that Meatpacking District restaurant Son Cubano is closing due to a dispute with the landlord. It looks like they'll be moving to the former Cain space up in Chelsea. [GS]
