Delays are an all too common reality of the Fall Debut season. Restaurants that were meant to open by Labor Day, then late September, then Halloween, then Thanksgiving get ever pushed into the abyss of the post-New Years mid-winter. The latest fall debut to fall victim to heavy delays: The Dutch, Andrew Carmellini's much anticipated American restaurant in the old Cub Room space. In July it was on track for September. In October it was late November, early December. Then there's this in the tipline: "I have it from a 1000% confirmed source inside the camp that The Dutch is having some delays and is at least 4 - 6 weeks out from this point." It's something Eater sources have reiterated. Bad delays can happen to good people. Here's hoping he can pull it off by mid December for a Soho Christmas Miracle.
