Aureole Inspection Puts them in C-Level Territory

New, 12 comments

A couple of tipsters wrote in yesterday to report that high-end Midtown restaurant Aureole was caught off guard by a surprise Health Department inspection on Tuesday and racked up enough points to put them in C grade territory. And lo and behold, the official inspection is now up on the DOH site confirming. The restaurant received 29 violation points (anything over a 28 is a C), for serving cold food too warm, "Tobacco use, eating, or drinking from open container in food preparation," having "inadequate" personal cleanliness, and "Food contact surface not properly washed, rinsed and sanitized after each use."

Luckily, Chris Lee and his team at the restaurant have 18 days to shape up before getting a new inspection and do not have to post the C just yet. Lord knows even fancier restaurants have bounced back from even worse inspections.
