1) Upper West Side: The folks over at the restaurant send new pictures of Graffit, the New York debut of Spanish chef Jesus Nunez that opens next month. He has some pretty big deal restaurants over in Spain, so it looks to be an exciting opening. As for the decor, it's a nod at the chef's history as a graffiti artist (see photos above). The restaurant will fit 31 seats in the tapas and bar room, 26 in the dining room, and another 26 in what they're calling the Garden Room. Also, "diners will place orders for tapas via a small deck of pictorial menu cards drawn by Nunez himself and depicting the chef's plating sketches. [PLYWOOD]
2) Noho: The Strong Buzz reports that Hung Ry, an upscale hand-pulled noodles venture, is opening soon at 55 Bond St. Grub Street has the photos. [PLYWOOD]
3) Lower East Side: Bowery Boogie brings word that Red Mango's newest location will replace the Mi Pueblo Deli and Grocery at 145 Allen St. [PLYWOOD]
4) Ditmas Park: Ditmas Park Blog relays the information that yet-to-open Cafe Madeline is looking for a "serious barista" and laments that TONY already filed a blurb before the place has even finished its build out. [PLYWOOD]
5) Chelsea: It's All Fare has a shot of signage for a new branch of Financier Patisserie coming to 688 6th Avenue, a space where two fro-yo shops (including a Red Mango) previously failed. [PLYWOOD]
6) East Village: EV Grieve runs a new photo of the work in progress at Papa John's in the East Village. [PLYWOOD]
7) Park Slope: Another pizza place for Park Slope. Pete's Pizzeria, on 5th Ave. between 1st and 2nd, installed signage today. Here is Park Slope reports, "Like La Villa, Pete's will feature a wood-burning oven, but the owner told me it will be more of a 'pizza bar,' and should be open by the end of the year. Judging by the vintage-looking signage and a quick glimpse into the rustic, dark wood and brick interior, this place will be more of a down-home style pizza-and-beer place, with no frills." [PLYWOOD]
