Community Board Proves It's No Kangaroo Court

After two meetings to discuss changes to their liquor license application policy, CB 3 was presented with a draft report last night on proposed changes. The report's suggestions, such as shifting from resolution areas to high density license zones, creating a ranking system for troubled blocks and a uniform policy for license transfers, were so vague that they only led to more conjecture amongst the committee's members about what should be done. Serge Becker and his new group would be happy to know the report was done by a volunteer graduate student, so it seems like they got what they paid for. At the end of the meeting, CB 3 announced they would review a revised draft prior to voting on any proposals, and until then, it's status quo.
