Aces & Eights, Luna Espresso Down for the Count

1) Upper East Side: Times coffee man Oliver Strand notices that Luna Espresso an ambitious and also kind of adorable coffee shop on the Upper East Side is now closed. [Twitter]

2) Midtown: Midtown Lunch is concerned that Koreatown katsu joint Arang may be doneski. When they called there was no answer, and when we call this morning we only get a busy signal. File under, suspicious. [ML]

3) East Village: EV Grieve notes that Aces & Eights, an Upper East Side import that hasn't had an easy go of it in the last year and a half, is shuttered for good. This news comes just a month after the ownership announced that they would rebrand themselves with a new name and shortly after it was shuttered by the city and also had its liquor license briefly revoked. Now the address is on Community Board 3's November agenda. [EVG]
