In a brief piece about the New Amsterdam Pavilion in Battery Park City, The Observer reports that a) it's opening about a year late and b) it would have/could have but didn't end up having a Shake Shack. Says the president of the Battery Conservancy, "Shake Shack wanted 800 square feet and we could only do 400." She won't say who ended up signing the contract. [NYO; previously]
