At last, M. Wells, the four-month-old diner in LIC helmed by a vet of Canada’s esteemed Au Pied De Cochon, is opening for dinner! Sort of. Tonight, and tonight only, chef Hugue Dufour and his team will be extending their hours to host a meal featuring mushrooms from Central Park and Gaspé, Québec, that have been harvested by a Canadian duo that specialize in rare and exotic 'shrooms. Per their newsletter, the dinner will feature five specials:
Mac n’ Foie (Fettuccini a la Lobster Mushroom powder)And you can order from their regular menu as well. Things kick off at 4pm, and next week, Hugue has promised to add "buffalo jerky and four varieties of rabbit" to the menu. No word yet on when M. Wells will actually be open for dinner, regularly, but this seems like a step in the right direction.
Fritters (Central Park Squamosus & Banana Curry Mayonnaise)
S?tuffed Morels (Rabbit and Foie Gras Mousse) ?
Cappuccino (Yellowfoot Chanterelle Soup) ?
Wild Mushroom Burgers
