More tipsters have written in to repeat today's earlier rumor that Vegas' popular Thai restaurant Lotus of Siam is moving into the former Cru space, and this afternoon an inside source calls to confirm the move is indeed happening and new chefs have been training in the Cru kitchen for the last two months. Over on The Feast they hear the same from Vegas manager Pennata Chutima.
The staff is already trained, friends and family starts next week, and they hope to open in the first week of November. The restaurant will be more casual than Cru, and we are told it will be different from most other Thai restaurants in the city. Clean, straightforward flavors, with the average entree price around $20 and the most expensive dishes topping out around $36. Our source reveals that since the menu in Vegas is so sprawling, the New York version will have about one third the content, holding about 50 dishes. A tipster adds to the excitement by writing in, "Everyone I know who's eaten there in Vegas said it's better than Sripraphai."
