For the third time in two years, cultishly loved and affordable sandwich shop Crosby Connection must find a new home. The sandwich outfit—which has had locations on Crosby and Bleecker and in the Parisi Bakery—moved to the concessions area within the Theaters at 45 Bleecker Street back in April 2009 after they had a falling out with the people at Parisi. Now the theater is closed due to a legal dispute with its landlord. It may reopen, but no one knows when.
But don't worry Crosby fans. These guys roll with the punches. Case in point, a letter from a tipster:
I went in for a Crosby Connection sandwich today and saw a CLOSED signSo order away: 212-677-8444.
on the door at 45 Bleecker St Theatre and was surprised and hugely
disappointed by the empty lobby and the doors locked. No hot meatball
sandwiches or Turkey Brie to satiate my lunch time hunger. DRAMA!So I went back to my office and called Crosby Connection. One of the
guys from shop picked up and said the theatre was closed for the time
being and that they've gone "underground." Like the Underground
Railroad, I asked? The guy said, well, more like Guerilla
Underground. Or Velvet. Ok, whatever. The dude said he isn't currently in a brick 'n mortar but is available
for delivery at regular business hours and that Crosby Connection now
has a twitter account and will be posting daily specials on it.
