Red Rooster, Marcus Samuelsson’s massive new Harlem restaurant/lounge/performance space/culinary education center was originally slated for a Labor Day opening, then a mid-October roll out, now we hear that they’re shooting for a November launch. The chef has been hyping the hell out of his new project for months now, but recently he's been busy doing a bunch of things that seem to have no relation to actually getting the doors open. Like:
· Cooking at Nia Long’s Birthday Bash
· Cooking at Epicurious’s Birthday Bash
· Taking a Vacay in Sweden
· Teaching a Cooking Class for Buick In Connecticut
· Appearing on the New A&E Show Fix This Kitchen
· Teaching a Cooking Class at FCI
· Designing a Kitchen Linen Collection for Target
· Cooking at a Party for HBO's Brave New Voices
· Cooking in Chicago with Tony Mantuano and Cat Cora
· Writing Listicles About His Favorite Things In Harlem
· Designing a Menu for a Cruise Ship
He's a busy guy! When Red Rooster does open, hopefully it will live up to the insane hype. But for now one thing's for certain: Samuelsson's got his pre-opening game down solid.
