After this morning's fire, one that chef Jim McDuffee says was electrical in nature and started downstairs, the cleanup at Joseph Leonard begins. When an operative passed by early this afternoon, the windows had been boarded up and workers inside and outside were busy assessing the damage amidst the unmistakable odor of burnt objects. The fortunate news was that the fire occurred very early in the morning, well before any of the restaurant's employees reported to work. When asked when they might reopen, McDuffee responded "it's not up to us."
