Earlier this week, The Fat Radish, the rustic little Lower East Side/Chinatown restaurant from the owners of catering and events group Silkstone, opened this week on Orchard near Canal. The cuisine was inspired, of course, "by seasonal, modern British cooking with an emphasis on farm-table practices and local sourcing," not too surprising given Silkstone is run by two Brits, including Kingswood alum Ben Towill. The menu includes a smattering of vegetable-centric aps, the expected burger, the unexpected mako shark vindaloo, and items like braised venison with parsnip dumplings and honey glazed duck with wheat berries.
Also look out for a mostly biodynamic wine list and a cocktail list from Apotheke's David Clelland.
