Berrywild and Van Leeuwen, arrows ours, It's All Fare

1) East Village: EV Grieve reports the sad news that East Village cheap eats staple Cinderella's Falafel has lost its long fought battle with Mamoun's (and Tahini?). It's currently being gutted. [EVG]

2) Village: A reader sends word that Bb Sandwich Bar on West Third between 6th Ave. and MacDougal has shuttered. Their website and phone lines are already down. BB was known for its unique take on a Philly cheesesteak. [ShutterWire]

3) East Village: Jeremiah Moss discovers Shiki, the sushi place on 1st and 9th that was littered with paper figurines and always boasted an all you can eat sushi special, is doneski. [JVNY]

4) Flatiron: Blog It's All Fare suspects that the Van Leeuwen truck (previous called out for its parasitic practices) may have contributed to the shutter of one year-old fro yo shop Berrywild on 23rd St.: "For the past several months, a Van Leeuwen truck strategically parked itself in the street just beyond Berrywild's storefront...Before frigid temperatures hit Manhattan, patrons could be seen waiting in long lines for Van Leeuwen's deliciously smooth ice creams while Berrywild remained virtually empty."
