Max Expands East Village Footprint with Sleek 2nd Ave Space

For the better part of last year, East Villagers wondered what was going into the snazzy space on the corner of 2nd Avenue and 2nd Street, supposedly once briefly the home to NY Amsterdam News. By the looks of it, it could have been made into an office once again, a retail shop, an open, two story restaurant, or a branch of Chase. Luckily for the dining world, it will be a restaurant, an Italian one, from the people of Max in the East Village and Tribeca. According to signage on the door, the Max folks will appear before CB3 this Monday.
