Grub Street reports the sad but not incredibly shocking news that Montenapo, the giant seven month-old Italian restaurant in the ground floor of the new New York Times Building, has closed. It's unclear exactly what the reasoning was, but their high prices and resemblance to a Courtyard Marriott probably didn't help. Reps tell Grubz that they "are reorganizing and changing the concept and should have something definite by February."
Meanwhile, Kinski, a sweet little Central European cafe on the LES has been temporarily shuttered for the past couple of weeks due to a water main issue. They tell The Feed they hope to reopen in two weeks with a new chef.
