While the population of non-machines went relaxing during the last days of 2009, The Full Hanson pressed onward in his fledgling-but-compelling assault on the burger business. Sources today tell Eater that Hanson has a just-signed lease at 45 Rockefeller Plaza in the space that was formerly Pino Luongo's longtime Italian canteen, Tuscan Square (closed January, 2008). In its place Hanson will open New York's second Bill's Bar & Burger. Our intel has this new Bill's as being something of a flagship, with its 300-odd seats and tony address. A coup for the Rock Center lunch crowd, too -- which is somewhat under-served, save for the caravan of food trucks and myriad Lenny's-type installations -- it's slated to open in 'a few months', according to our well-placed source.
