Fork in the Road brings the exciting cocktail world news that nightlife maven Sasha Petraske is planning on opening a jazz and cocktail bar in Midtown called Hi-Note, that is if he can secure his funding. The bar, if it all comes together, will have a 1950's aesthetic, will boast a piano (so trendy!) and will host live jazz acts on the weekdays. Why uptown? Petraske says, "After Mercury Dime, I'm a little traumatized about downtown...I grew up downtown, so I'm a little disappointed. But there's some interesting stuff north of 14th Street." See what you've done, Community Board 3? The potential bar is located on 39th And Lexington and may open in two months.
