Four Mega-Watt Chefs Sign on for NBC's Food Truck

New, 13 comments

A couple of weeks ago news leaked out that NBC New York was putting on another pop-up chef event, like their David Chang food truck bonanza last spring, to publicize the launch of their new food site Feast. Today all the glorious details have been released. Instead of Chang, this event will involve Daniel Boulud, Alain Ducasse, Paul Liebrandt, and Michael White offering what the site is calling "the ultimate free lunch." According to the release, on February 8, the four chefs will operate a food truck (can they all fit in one?) at four secret locations, and at each stop a select group of contest winners will get a free lunch. The menu is still under wraps, but we hear that White will be serving porchetta focaccia and Boulud, his Frenchie burgers from DBGB. How to win a spot?

Beginning today, locals can log on to the website NBCNewYork.com to answer a specific list of only-in-New York questions that define the essence of the city. More than five hundred people will receive a “golden ticket” that they can exchange on the day of the event for the undisclosed location and a pass for the free meal...Usually in the kitchen at some of New York’s toniest restaurants, each chef will offer dishes never before served on a food truck.
The contest starts at 11 AM here, so start stretching those refresh fingers.

Expect more hoopla surrounding the launch of Feast—which will debut in New York, LA, Miami, and Chicago—in the weeks to come.
