The Newest Food Festival to Hit New York: Luckyrice

Luckyrice, a marketing company trying to push Asian culinary culture in America, today announced they're putting on a huge Asain food fest followed by a restaurant week this spring. It's no New York Wine and Food Festival, but the roster of big names involved—Chang, Ripert, Morimoto, Boulud, Michael Huynh, Vongerichten—suggests this could be quite the event. There's a huge tasting event at the Bowery Hotel, a karaoke party hosted by Morimoto in Tribeca (possibly in his new restaurant down there), an Asian street food market hosted by David Chang, and more from Anita Lo, Pichet Ong, and even a cameo from (!) Kelly Choi. Tickets don't go on sale until next month, so it's impossible to tell whether or not attending will be within reach for most.

The fest runs from April 29 - May 2, the restaurant week from May 3 - 9. See the official site to check out the whole slew of events.
