Kudos to the New York businesses and New Yorkers who have stepped up to the plate to help raise money for Haiti in its time of need. Beyond the overwhelming number of restaurants who will be donating money to aid the relief, the nightlife industry has also gotten into the mix in it's own special way. Over at the Thompson LES, a Gawker operative overhead one guest at the Guest of a Guest/Mark Ronson party charitably remark, "wait - it's not open bar?", while Susan Sarandon's favorite bar SPiN NY hosted a Models Playing Ping Pong for Haiti event last night, complete with live streaming. It's not exactly clear how that raised money, but that's neither here nor there. If those tales don't make you want to open your wallet for Haiti, then why not head out to Scene Restaurant & Lounge in Commack, Long Island, where the Post says you will find Long Island Lolita Amy Fisher stripping to raise money for the relief effort. Every dollar counts.
