Over the weekend, emails poured in sharing info on fundraisers and donation efforts going on at local restaurants and bars. EV Grieve rounds up some of the charity efforts going on in the East Village including Zum Schneider and Professor Thom's. Here's a few more charity efforts going on right now for Haiti.
-Brooklyn Bowl will host a benefit concert this Wednesday, January 20th featuring Robert Randolph & the Family Band. Tickets are on sale now for $25 and all proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross Haiti Fund and Yele Haiti. Food of course by Blue Ribbon.
-Flatbush Farm will host a Haiti Relief Book & CD Sale today from 12-3PM.
-Both locations of Fatty Crab, as well as Cabrito, are joining in on the efforts to help the victims of Haiti. The Fatty Crew has responded to Philippe Massoud’s call to action and on Sunday 1/24 (only) they will be donating 10% of their sales from each of the venues. They are also asking staff to commit up to 5% of their tips.
-Tim Horton's will donate $100,000 to UNICEF to help Haiti. Additionally, locations across the U.S. will install coin boxes to collect donations. [PR Newswire]
-Donations taken at both Boqueria locations, with a goal of $5,993 to purchase an emergency relief kit for Doctors Without Borders.
-At Bespoke Chocolates, 100% of profits from Sunday, January 17th will be donated to Haitian relief efforts.
-Mercat Negre in Williamsburg and Mercat restaurant in Soho are donating 100% of proceeds from Sunday, January 17th to the Haiti relief fund Yele, through Americares.
