Subject: Balking at Cafeteria's Absurd Velvet Ropes

I just had to write you about my experience on Saturday night at Cafeteria as it was an utterly appalling disgrace of a once fun late-night establishment in NYC. I mean, who do they think they are, the Boom Boom room at the Standard?! Asking me and 5 friends to stand behind a rope outside and wait 30 minutes for a table in 16 degree weather?!

I walked up to Cafeteria at about 3am on Saturday with 5 attractive friends. It was my birthday. We had just left SoHo House and could have easily have headed over to the diner across the street, but instead we made the trek to Cafeteria for what we were hoping would be some good late night eats. I could not believe the audacity they had to ask customers to stand outside and wait in that cold. You don't even have to wait that long to get into 1Oak these days!!

Needless to say, after sharing a few words about their petty excuse for a wannabe hip joint (for the Bridge and Tunnel crowd at best), we went to Crispy Pizza across the street instead and enjoyed a warm slice and the ever-inventive taco calzone.

Hope you will support me in boycotting late night dining at Cafeteria. Unless VIP ropes are becoming a trend in NYC eating. In which case I think I need to flea the city.
