Another Downtown Uno's Bids Adieu to the Village

New, 9 comments

Yesterday, Jeremiah Moss brought word that the Uno's on 6th Avenue and 8th Street had closed, and passersby were scavenging artifacts such as signage and pizza pans from the dumpster in front of the space. Today, the corporation emails its avid fans and "Uno's Insiders" to send their condolences:

It's with sadness we write to let you know that our Uno® on 6th Ave. & 8th St. has closed...Sometimes, locations just don't work, even with great guests like you. That's the case here. Our entire staff will sincerely miss serving you and thank you for sharing your time (and appetite) with us.
Aw, first 3rd Avenue and 11th and then this? Is this the end of obscenely calorific chain pizza for the Village? But no worries, there's always the wonderful South Street Seaport.
...As a convenience to you, we've taken the liberty of updating your preferred location to South St. Seaport at Pier 17, New York. If that doesn't work, you can change your preference by logging in and updating your profile. Either way, you'll continue to receive all those Insider benefits like:
• Sneak Peeks
• Thank You Parties
• Insider Rewards
• Free birthday gift
• Insider feedback on all things 'Uno'
You have been a friend to us, and we appreciate it. You have our gratitude for your loyal patronage and support as an Uno Insider...
