Josh Pickard Takes Cub Room, Dentons Move Into Frederick's Downtown

Last night, Community Board 2 members gathered to mete out the fate of over a dozen chefs, restaurant operators, and potential problem bar owners. The full report will be up later this morning—a three story Village Pourhouse! A denial for The Mott!—but first, the biggest pieces of news:

Josh Pickard, the current operator of Chinatown Brasserie, Joe’s Pub, Lure and Locanda Verde, is taking over the Cub Room space at 131 Sullivan, last eyed by Chris Cannon and Mike White. Details are still scarce at the moment, but it is designed to be run as an “American café” that will serve brunch, lunch, dinner and possibly breakfast. The community provided little resistance, besides a few complaints about the former tenant in regards to noise and trash issues.

Meanwhile, Jason and Joe Denton of ‘inoteca fame successfully came before the board to apply for a license for the now shuttered Frederick’s Downtown location. While it won’t be another ‘inoteca, the concept will be similar.

Update: Zagat confirms the Denton takeover and reveals the name and projected opening date. The place will be called cors'ino and tentative opening date is October 12th.
