The Plywood Report: Pulino's, Gansevoort 69, and More

1) Bowery: Check it out: Workers are adding a brick facade to the new McNally/Nate Appleman pizza joint, Pulino's. Getting closer, everyone! [PLYWOOD]

2) Flatiron: A tipster report: "The retail space across from my apartment on West 22nd b/w 5th and 6th, which was briefly occupied by the bar Catch-22 (and before that, Prey Lounge), will be opening on 9/9/09 as a cafe/bistro called Sagaponack. It looks like it will be serving organic fare. The place looks really lovely." A walkby confirms (photos above). [PLYWOOD]

3) East Village: EV Grieve learns that the owner of Theater 80 on St. Mark's Place will be opening a nautically themed cafe called William Barnacle Scott in the former concession area. There will be no TV, no juke box, and it will close at 6 p.m. daily. [PLYWOOD]

4) Midtown: Midtown Lunch gets little update on the second Manhattan Baja Fresh: "We are hoping to open 41st and Broadway in mid Sept, tentative date is Sep. 14th. We are also bringing the Nacho burrito and Queso Fundido to NYC due to popular demand, as well as whole wheat tortillas. Also, at Lex we recently received our liquor license and have begun serving beers with wines and margaritas to come in the next week or so.” [PLYWOOD]

4) Brooklyn Heights: Lost City takes a look at the progress at Armando's, the Brooklyn Heights staple that's moving back into its old home, recently occupied by the Spicy Pickle: "New, cream-colored awning. Sleek outfittings inside, including a large white marble bar up near the front. A polished new image. But no sign of the lost neon lobster sign!!" [PLYWOOD]

5) Williamsburg: A new exhaust has been installed at Pies 'n' Thighs! We're inching closer to an opening. [PLYWOOD]

6) Meatpacking District: Jeremiah Moss notices some new chandeliers going in at the new Gansevoort 69. [PLYWOOD]
