EaterWire: Balazs Chases Bears our of MePa, Bushwick Sandwich Cart

MEATPACKING DISTRICT—Though Community Board 2 gave the annual West Village Leather & Bear Street Fair permission to take over West 13th Street next month, the city is reneging on the offer. The director of the festival is blaming the Standard Hotel and the New York Wine and Food Festival, also planned for MePa over the same weekend. [The Villager via Curbed]

BUSHWICK— Bushwick BK brings the news that some area artists have started a sandwich cart and catering service in Bushwick called Farm Cart: "They take phone and web orders, promising delivery within 20 minutes. The ingredients are organic, the bread comes from the Sullivan Street Bakery, and the sandwich is a totally acceptable $7." [Bushwick BK via Fork in the Road]

CHICAGO— A Chicago bakery named Baked that seemed eerily similar to the Red Hook bakery Baked has agreed to change its name. [Fork in the Road]
