Status: Open now.

PR reps announce that the long delayed macaroni shaped sister to Soho scenster restaurant Delicatessen opens today on 54 Prince Street. About what one would expect, Macbar serves up 12 flavors of mac 'n' cheese—including a lobster version, a duck confit version, a carbonara version, and even a beef stroganoff version—in noodle shaped plastic bowls. Prices range from $5.99 for a small Classic Mac to $17.99 for a large Mac Lobsta’, and there's a condiment bar for bacon-and-breadcrumb mix, buttermilk sauce, and the like. Bottom line: it's kind of like trendy knockoff the EVill's S'mac—cue the blogger taste tests—except with no room to sit down. Macbar is open from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. on weekdays and until 2 a.m. on weekends.
